BMW Dealer Auctions

BMW passed Mercedes as the world leader in luxury cars in 2005, so a BMW dealer auction is an excellent place to pick up one of these well-made, respected vehicles. Most dealers believe that the BMW is in a class all its own, and truly what the manufacturer claims, which is "the ultimate driving machine". The feel and drive of a BMW makes it stand out in the eyes of many dealers, and many more owners around the world. The performance and handling are more of a thrill than most other cars can provide.

Dealers are nearly always interested in purchasing these vehicles, which they may pass on through auctions at their dealership, or through private sales. With BMW, another adage fits as well, and that is that you do get what you pay for. BMW's fetch good prices at auctions and at sales. If you're in the market for a used BMW, buying from a dealer in a private sale gives the dealer quite a nice commission, in dealer overhead. If you buy at auction, there may be savings to be had.

Dealers attend wholesale auctions, and they will purchase a car for you, if you tell them what you are looking for. They can buy most models at discount at a wholesale BMW dealer auction, and pass those savings (some of it) on to you. They will usually take a fee for finding the vehicle, unless you know the dealer personally, but it's still cheaper than buying off the lot, where overhead must be paid, and passed on to you.

There are also public auctions, where you can bid on BMW's in your local area. These types of auctions are open to the public, and you can view many more makes and models at these auctions, as well.

BMW auctions are popular events, and if you're not totally familiar with the intricacies of the BMW you are looking for, most of these places are best left to the experts and dealers. If a car is not fetching what it should, there is usually a reason for that.

BMW's are popular all over the world, and even the base models, the 3 Series, got 5 out of 5 stars in 2006 from J.D. Power. Cars.com rated it 5 of 5 as well, and Edmunds.com raved that the BMW 3 Series is the best car for entry level luxury car buyers. In addition, they gave it their Editors Most Wanted Award. BMW cars give you a connection to the roadways when you drive, and that's why so many people attend BMW auctions.

The BMW 5 Series has set the standard for luxury wagons and sport sedans. It has an excellent feel for the road, and superior reflexes. It features lots of up-to-date technology, including iDrive audio, and access to all the climate, navigation and communication functions via an LCD screen.

If you have it in your heart to own a BMW, you will probably want to contact a dealer, preferably one you know, and ask him or her to bid for the car you want at your local area's next BMW dealer auction.
